Gemtor Horizontal Lifeline
Systems are engineered to provide a temporary OSHA-compliant anchorage
point when no overhead anchorage exists or when a worker needs the
ability to move across a horizontal surface while tied off. When used in
conjunction with an approved full-body harness and lanyard, the complete
system has the ability to arrest a worker’s fall and limit the forces
transmitted to the worker and the system’s anchor points. Many system
configurations are available to accommodate work site and environmental
conditions. |

HL3 Series - Horizontal Lifeline System
Single and Multi-Span
Gemtor’s
single/multi span horizontal lifeline system is the perfect choice for
worker safety during bridge and building construction. Designed for
quick and easy mounting to structural I Beams, this complete kit
includes everything you need to protect your workers while performing
their tasks at heights. Each two (2) stanchion system can be used on a
span of up to 60 feet. Intermediate stanchions and Add-On systems can be
deployed to create a system of unlimited length.
Large
mounting bolts that provide more surface area contact are located on the
top side of the stanchion base make attachment to a beam safer and
easier than competitive systems. The stanchions feature an adjustable U
shaped clamp and safety chain system that wraps around the opposite top
flange of the beam providing additional security. The chain is attached
to a bolt that has a long handled nut for ease of tightening.
The
stanchions are extremely strong yet lightweight. They attach to the beam
in a manner that minimally impacts the space required for the body of a
worker to pass by.
Stanchions fit beam flanges up to 3"
thick and up to 36" wide.

The
Unitensioner®
The patented
Unitensioner® device is the heart of Gemtor’s Temporary or Permanent
Horizontal Lifeline Systems and takes the guesswork out of setting
up a horizontal lifeline. The Unitensioner® is easy to use and
performs the following functions:
Allows the user to tighten/stretch the lifeline, helps maintain
desired tension by preventing over-tightening, and effectively
limits fall arrest forces on the worker and the anchor points
without the use of an energy absorbing lanyard.

Complete
Temporary Systems -
For use where vertical columns capable of supporting at least 5,000 lbs. are available. An anchor sling is attached to a vertical support at each end, and the lifeline is tensioned between them. If the span exceeds 60', intermediate supports must be used at intervals of 60' or less. Maximum span
300'. Please note that systems can be configured using Fixed Beam
Anchors (i.e. VBA-121), Anchor D-rings (i.e. AD-2), or other types
of anchorage connectors. |

Stanchions -
When suitable
vertical supports are not available, a model # HL3-S1 can be attached at
each end of a horizontal I-beam and the lifeline can be tensioned between
them. If the span exceeds 60', a model # HL3-IS intermediate support must be
used at intervals of 60' or less. The unique angled design of Gemtor's
portable stanchions helps keep the lifeline out of the worker's way. |
