The
selection of your lanyard is as important as the
proper selection of your full-body
harness. Lanyards should be kept as short as
possible to reduce the possibility of serious
injury. OSHA mandates that free fall distances not
exceed 6'.
An energy absorber
should be part of
a fall arrest system whenever possible, in order to
ensure that forces incurred during a fall are less
than the OSHA limit of 1,800 lbs. (Click

Care should be taken to prevent abrasions or cuts.
Ropes with larger diameters have greater abrasion
resistance.

Y-Lanyards for Retrieval and Suspension
Model # 261SB
- Yoke Lanyard - Two-legged 1" wide polyester web lanyard with a
#5155 locking snaphook at each end and a O-ring in the center. Spreader bar separates lanyards legs for attachment to shoulder D-rings of harness. Standard length: 5' (30" each leg).

Steel Cable Positioning Lines
Steel cables are not appropriate for fall arrest unless used as part of a fall arrest system incorporating an energy absorbing component.
Positioning lines are available in 1/4" diameter, 7 x 19, galvanized (7,000 lb. test) or stainless steel (6,100 lb. test) wire rope. A
#5155 locking snaphook is permanently attached at each end. An available nylon covering extends cable life and protects against abrasion, dirt, grit, and moisture. Coated diameter is 5/16".
